Kwadwo Asamoah rejected Black Stars to help Juventus

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah spoke to the media following his good performance against Bologna and touched upon his decision to stay in Turin during the African Cup of Nations.

Asamoah’s game against Bologna was his 200th appearance in Serie A. And the Ghanaian international spoke about his career and his road to recovery.

In an interview with JTV, the midfielder said:

“Luckily, I’m able to play multiple positions. It was a nice win, in what wasn’t the easiest of games. It was the best way to start the new year. For us, it’s very important to hear our fans. Their affection gives us a big boost. I’m not able to say if this is the best Juventus team I’ve played in. Juventus are always strong. From when I came, we’ve always had a good team, either in the locker room or on the field.”

On the African Cup of Nations, Asamoah said:

“It was hard to say no to the African Cup of Nations. The manager and the President of the Federation called me many times and I underlined how much I would have liked to go. However, over the past few years I’ve had some problems and now it’s time for me to work and play as much as possible. I’m happy because I wanted to stay here and train to help the team.”
