Jerome Boateng voted into UEFA Team of the Year

World champion Jérôme Boateng has been voted into the UEFA.com Team of the Year by users of the European governing body’s website.

The centre-back was the only Bayern Munich player to make the XI. The 28-year-old and former FCB player Toni Kroos are the two Germans to feature in the selection.

It is the first time Boateng has made the final XI after a third nomination on the bounce.

The defensive stalwart misses the Doha training camp after undergoing a shoulder operation in December.
