A/R: Boy, 15, shot dead after refusing to surrender phone

A fifteen year old boy, Osman, has been shot to death after he reportedly refused to release his mobile phone to an unidentified person during an annual Salah jam near the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi Tuesday night.

Osman, who was shot in the forehead was rushed to the Konfo Anokye Teaching Hospital since the Manhyia Hospital which is close to the incident scene claimed they did not have the capacity to provide medical treatment due to the extent of the injury.


The victim passed on few hours after he was admitted at the hospital.

Eye witnesses say, some persons during the Salah Jam went round seizing peoples mobile phones and as they approached Osman and ordered him to surrender his phone, he refused, which angered one of the persons to fire at him in his head.

The Manhyia Police have since commenced investigations into the incident.
